SUMMARY:TIPP 2021 - International Conference on Technology and Instrumentation in Particle Physics
DESCRIPTION:The TIPP conference series\, the science driven cross-disciplinary conference\, started in Tsukuba\, Japan in 2009 (TIPP 2009)\, followed by Chicago in 2011 (TIPP 2011)\, Amsterdam in 2014 (TIPP2014) and Beijing in 2017 (TIPP2017). The conference aim is to provide a stimulating atmosphere for scientists and engineers from around the world. The 2021 edition will take place virtually. \nThe conference will\, as in the past\, include plenary invited talks and parallel tracks with contributions outlining state-of-the-art developments in different areas. The program focus is on all areas of detector development and instrumentation in particle physics\, astro-particle physics and closely related fields\, in particular: \n\nAccelerator-based particle physics\nNon-accelerator particle physics and particle astrophysics\nExperiments with synchrotron radiation and neutrons\nNuclear physics\nInstrumentation and monitoring of particle and photon beams\nApplications in photon science\, biology\, medicine\, and engineering

SUMMARY:IEEE SORMA West 2021
DESCRIPTION:SORMA West 2021 is the 18th in a series of technical meetings dealing with ionizing radiation and its applications. The SORMA conference series began in 1964\, and at first was convened every four to five years at its University of Michigan home. As radiation detectors increased in number\, variety\, and societal importance\, SORMA West was added so that the forum would be available every two years.

SUMMARY:International Conference on the Security of Radioactive Material: Prevention and Detection
DESCRIPTION:The IAEA will convene an international conference during the week of 3 to 7 December 2018 to provide a forum for Member States to share their experiences\, including difficulties encountered\, lessons learned and good practices adopted\, in the implementation of the Nuclear Security Recommendations on Radioactive Material and Associated Facilities (IAEA Nuclear Security Series No. 14)\, and Nuclear Security Recommendations on Nuclear and Other Radioactive Material out of Regulatory Control (IAEA Nuclear Security Series No. 15)and related international instruments\, such as the Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources. The conference will also provide an opportunity to outline the way forward.

SUMMARY:2018 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Nuclear Science Symposium (NSS) and Medical Imaging Conference (MIC) will be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney\, in Sydney\, Australia\, from the 10th to 17th of November. \nThis conference is the premier gathering of experts in radiation detection instrumentation with its applications in nuclear science\, medical imaging\, and space. The synergy created by the joining of the NSS and MIC is significant as it is an ideal atmosphere for the exchange of knowledge\, generation of new ideas\, and application of radiation detectors among academics\, engineers\, medical physicists\, and physicians. The 2018 international conference event marks the 65th meeting aimed at bringing additional research flavours by encouraging participation of new groups of people to create ideas leading to innovation in radiation detectors\, signal processing\, and imaging. The conference is of special interest to IEEE Region 10 scientists who will be able to participate and learn from the large and diverse group of people that regularly attend every year.

SUMMARY:International Safeguards: Building Future Safeguards Capabilities
DESCRIPTION:The IAEA holds a Symposium on International Safeguards every four years in order to engage the broader safeguards community in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities to strengthen the effectiveness of safeguards implementation. \nThe 2018 symposium’s theme is ‘Building Future Safeguards Capabilities’\, and will look ahead to emerging technologies and innovative approaches with potential for strengthening and streamlining the implementation of safeguards and explore  partnerships and mechanisms of relevance going forward. \n\n\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\nThe objectives of the symposium are to: \n\nInnovate – by generating new ideas on methods and technologies to substantially improve the IAEA’s technical capabilities and achieve efficiencies in the way it works\nPartner – by mobilizing partnerships to further explore new ideas\, bring innovation into the work of the Department of Safeguards\, and support long term safeguards research and development needs; and\nImprove – by engaging the safeguards community in sharing experiences\, building capabilities\, and finding ways to streamline\, simplify and improve the implementation of safeguards in the field and at headquarters.
